Day 3:Travel to Eagle Valley and Gobi Gurban Saikhan Mountain National Park.

Rich in biodiversity and picturesque locations, the Gobi Gurban Saikhan Mountain is a stunning national park. Yoliin Am/Eagle Valley is one of the scenic valleys that may be reached by driving. We will trek across the glistening valley into the depths of a steep rock canyon that does not receive any sunshine once our car has dropped us off at a designated parking location. It has ice until the end of June as a result. To get into the valley and back to the car, the hike takes two and a half to three hours. The valley is home to ibexes, bearded eagles, and elusive wild sheep. Ger camp lodging; breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 4: Sand Dunes at Khongor and riding a two-humped camel

The trip will continue to Khongor, the tallest solid dunes. If you are up for a physical challenge, visit a nomad family, ride two-humped camels, and climb one of the dunes when you get to Khongor. Discover why the locals refer to the dunes as "Singing Sand" by spreading the sand northwards against the wind if you can scale one of the tallest dunes. From the top of the dunes, you may enjoy breathtaking views of the Gobi Desert. Ger camp lodging; breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 5: Flaming Cliffs and Khavtsgait

In order to examine Khavtsgait rock drawings from the Late Bronze Age and early Iron Age, we first go to the Khavtsgait Valley in the West Saikhan Mountain of the Gurban Saikhan Mountain National Park. We must hike one kilometer back to see the rock artwork. We will continue our journey to the Flaming Cliffs, where American dinosaur remains were discovered by explorer Roy Chapman Andrews. Because the dinosaurs lay eggs, the first dinosaur nest discovered at Flaming Cliffs was significant for research. We will love exploring the cliffs in search of dinosaur fossils and taking sunset photos of the Flaming Cliffs after unwinding at the gers and escaping the afternoon sun. Ger camp lodging; breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 6: Travel across the vast steppes to Ongi Monastery.

Day 6: Travel across the vast steppes to Ongi Monastery.

We will start by going to the Bayanzag Gobi tree grove. Only the Central Asian desert is home to this tree. Drive to Ongi Monastery after passing over slate mountains and 80 kilometers of Ongi steppes. One of Mongolia's seven largest monasteries was Ongi Monastery. On the banks of the Ongi River, encircled by the mountains of the Gobi Desert, were two distinct monasteries with over thirty temples. During the 1930s socialist crackdown, the temples were demolished. The monastery' ruins now cover a large region. Explore the monastery ruins, see a recently opened functioning temple and a ger museum, and ascend a nearby mountain for breathtaking views of the surroundings. Ger camp lodging; breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 7: Ancient Monastery Erdenezuu, Kharkhorin

Day 7: Ancient Monastery Erdenezuu, Kharkhorin

The area where we are traveling today is the transitional area between the alpine steppes and the Gobi desert. In the thirteenth century, Genghis Khaan's Great Mongol Empire had Kharkhorin, formerly known as Kharakhorum, as its capital. Min troops demolished the deserted Kharakhorum in 1388 following the fall of the Empire and the relocation of the Mongolian capital to Beijing. Today, Kharkhorin town and the magnificent old monastery Erdenezuu coexist in the broad Orkhon River valley. Visit the monastery museum to see some priceless religious artifacts and take in the breathtaking architecture. The itinerary for today includes a visit to the Kharakhorum Museum. Ger camp lodging; breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Accommodation:Ger camp
Meals:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8: Return to Ulaanbaatar after visiting nomads and riding horses.

Backgrounds

Background

Do you think the Gobi Desert & Kharhorin Tour is right for you?Overnight stays in rural ger camps are part of this usual excursion. There are no strenuous physical activities on the schedule. Long drives through steppes with picturesque sights and shifting scenery are a must when visiting Mongolia. You will spend between three and a half to six hours each day driving. With a seven-hour drive and a one-hour lunch stop on route, the first day is the longest. Lighter activities on the agenda include horseback riding with local wranglers and easy trekking for one to three hours. The most difficult activity is ascending the Khongor sand dunes, albeit it is not required. Climbing one of the lower dunes allows you to take in the vista and the sand dunes.

Meals

As stated in the program, meals during the tour are covered. Ger camps in the countryside serve mostly Mongolian food with occasional European dishes. The primary component of meals, meat is served with salads, soups, and vegetables for lunch and dinner. Traditional Mongolian dishes will have more beef. Tea or coffee, bread, jam, butter, eggs, and sausage are the usual breakfast items. At some ger camps, breakfast consists of cereals, pancakes, cheese, cookies, and more. Salads, Mongolian soups, the main course (rice, pasta, vegetables, beef, mutton, chicken, or fish from lakes or rivers), dessert, and tea are served for lunch. Dinner at Ger camps consists of tea, the main entrée, a dessert, and salads. You will sample real Mongolian food with nomads. It is not traditional in Mongolian culture to serve different kinds of food at the same time. Please let us know in advance if you are vegetarian or have any other dietary requirements, and we will adjust our plans accordingly. Two 0.5L bottles of water will be provided each day. On request, one large bottle (1.5 liters) of water can be provided in place of two little ones.

Accommodation

Six nights in ger camps and a 1 night hotel stay in Ulaanbaatar are included in the tour. Seasonal accommodations and camps have a significant impact on Mongolian tourism. The ger camps in the Gobi Desert are accessible from May 15 to October 1. The ger camps are partially open in other months and shuttered in the winter. As a result, we can plan the tour with nearby hotels, guest rooms, and winter camp stays. For more thorough details regarding lodgings,

When is the Gobi Desert & Kharhorin Tour the best time to go?

The optimum time to visit the Gobi Desert is between May 10 to October 5. The weather will be pleasant and mild throughout this time. The most temperate area of Mongolia is the Gobi Desert. Compared to other regions of Mongolia, the average annual temperature is 2–10 degrees warmer here. Even if you visit Mongolia in the summer, you should not anticipate nice weather. Mongolia lies at least 700 meters above both Chinese borders and the nearby Siberian plateau. The temperature varies sharply from day to night and on some days by the hour. In the evening and at night, the temperature decreases by 10 to 20 degrees. While wind storms are common in March, April, and the first half of May, there will be sporadic cold winds and snowfall in May, September, and October. Temperatures range from +20 degrees on average per month to +30 degrees during the day, with nighttime lows of +8 degrees in late August, September, and the end of May. The warmest or wettest month might be July. The average July daytime temperature is +28 degrees, the highest is +40 degrees, and the lowest possible nighttime temperature is +12 degrees, though some nights may be extremely hot.
